I was about to become prey for a scammer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The email looked innocent enough. It was from a friend of mine, and it had a very normal subject in the subject line. The body of the email said my friend had something she wanted me to read. But the name of the document attached to the email?\u00a0 It looked fishy, and I\u2019m really glad I didn\u2019t open it because if I did, it was likely a virus that would have led to my computer being hacked. A quick phone call to my friend confirmed that she hadn\u2019t emailed me at all. Instead, it was a scammer trying to use my friend\u2019s email address to get me to open the file and help them gain access to whatever they wanted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cyber security is big business these days. The industry itself was valued at more than 155 billion dollars in the U. S. in 2022, and it\u2019s only getting bigger. We have to be vigilant when it comes to protecting our online assets but do you know what is more important?\u00a0 Protecting our spiritual security!\u00a0 We have an enemy who is \u201con the prowl like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour,\u201d as Peter writes in 1 Peter 5:8. But we have the authority and the power to tell him to flee in Jesus\u2019 name.
