It\u2019s not Elizabeth like many other people assume. It\u2019s just Beth.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t like my name growing up because it didn&#8217;t really lend itself to a cool nickname. That is, until my niece Trista started learning how to talk.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One day I went to visit my brother\u2019s family and when my sister-in-law answered the door, little Trista was right behind her.\u00a0 When she saw it was me at the door, her face lit up, she planted her hands on her little hips and boldly proclaimed, \u201cHi, Bethie!\u201d\u00a0 I loved it, the name stuck, and for a long time that\u2019s what she called me. It was a special thing between the two of us.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our Father God is known by many names and each name is a reminder of an aspect of His character and the relationship we have with Him. My favorite name for God is Abba, or Daddy, which we find in Romans 8:15. It\u2019s a name that tells us that we have been adopted into His family, that we can crawl up in His lap as His precious child, and the name that says He cares for us as Father.
