Morning Devotional:<\/span><\/p>\n

So the faucet in my bathroom sink broke a while back. That pull thing that you use to close the drain? The top of it came off in my hand one morning and when it did, the rest of it fell through the hole and down into the vanity below. This happened at around 4:00 in the morning, which is obviously not the most ideal time to start a home repair.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I have no experience fixing faucets but I didn\u2019t think it would be too hard to take care of so I went to the hardware store, bought the parts I thought I would need and tried to fix it the following day.\u00a0 Note the word \u201ctried\u201d in that sentence. I got the drain to close – but I haven\u2019t exactly been able to get it to open back up without some additional intervention from my fingertips.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There are some things that we have to admit we can\u2019t fix on our own. I can\u2019t fix plumbing problems, I can\u2019t fix cars, and none of us can fix the problem of sin. Sin is a problem we all have and we can\u2019t deny that. The apostle John tells us in his first letter, \u201c<\/span>If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.\u201d But God has provided the perfect solution for our sinful nature in His son Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross, all so that we could live in the joy of this wonderful promise: \u201cIf we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We can\u2019t fix the problem of sin but God already did.\u00a0 Let\u2019s praise the Father for the gift of His Son.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
