Morning Devotional:<\/span><\/p>\n

When the concept of streaming television became really popular, I loved it. I would latch on to a few favorite television shows and when a show\u2019s newest season would drop, I would plan a weekend and binge watch every episode of the new season back to back.\u00a0 One of my all-time favorite shows started up again just last week and I was really excited about doing my binge watch routine over the weekend but lo and behold, only one episode was released.\u00a0 I found out I would have to wait every week for the next three months for the next episode to come out.\u00a0 For an impatient person like me who likes to rush to the end of a story, well, this was not the best of news.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am a person who likes to know what\u2019s ahead. I like to know \u201cthe plan\u201d and I get antsy when I don\u2019t know what\u2019s coming around the corner. I especially like to know how things will turn out in the end.\u00a0 When I don\u2019t know those things, I find myself overcome by worry and that\u2019s not a good thing. That\u2019s not a God thing, either.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I would love it if God would ease my worry with a sneak peek into the future but instead, God insists that we trust Him for each day.\u00a0 He taught us to pray, \u201cGive us today our daily bread\u201d in Matthew 6:11. In verse 34 of that same chapter, Jesus says, \u201cDon\u2019t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.\u201d\u00a0 It\u2019s tough to set aside worry and choose trust, but if we take it day by day, trusting God is definitely doable.<\/span><\/p>\n
