As a matter of fact, I had a pretty forgetful day yesterday. I forgot to mail a birthday card and some bills. I went to the grocery store to pick up milk and ended up leaving the store with a bunch of things, except for the gallon milk I went there for. I forgot to make an important phone call and I forgot to cancel an appointment. I was not on track yesterday at all.

I may be forgetful but I am also pretty good at remembering things I would much rather forget. I remember the times when I have been wronged, or when I have been hurt by someone else’s unkind words or actions. Here’s something I would love to forget – the times when I have been the one who has sinned against someone else. It is those times when I am astounded by God’s memory – specifically, His willingness to forgive our sins and wipe them away. God is holy and just and full of compassion. We don’t deserve mercy but God gives it. We don’t merit forgiveness but God grants it. And those sins, in the light of His forgiveness and mercy, are gone.

Psalm 103:12 says this: “As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” God forgives sins and forgets them, too. I love that.

– Beth

Burning Question:

Have you ever come home to a surprise project?

Bible Quiz:

Question: How many sons did Abraham have?

Answer: Eight (Ishmael – Genesis 16:15, Isaac – Genesis 21:3, Keturah’s sons – Genesis 25:1-2)

Storytime: Moldy Fruit!

Just one more thing…

Morning Devotional: Now that I am getting older, I am finding that it is getting easier to forget things.
