Morning Devotional:<\/span><\/p>\n

I was spending a rare moment online last night looking at homes for sale. Now I am not moving anytime soon – I just went through that less than two years ago and I hope not to repeat that exercise for a long time – but I do enjoy looking at the listings and doing a little dreaming. If you could build a house from the ground up, what would it look like? Would you include a lot of wood trim or built in bookcases, or are things like tile and granite surfaces more your style? What about stone or stucco, or some other kind of construction materials? The possibilities are endless.<\/p>\n

Whatever your design style or decor tastes, there are some common construction principles to consider. You have to have a solid foundation and a point where your structure can be proven straight and true, such as a cornerstone.<\/p>\n

In constructing ancient buildings, the cornerstone was the principal stone placed at the corner of a building, and all other stones were set in reference to it. With that imagery, it should be no surprise that the apostle Paul references this image when he talks about Jesus in Ephesians 2: ” You are fellow
\ncitizens with God\u2019s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.” If you want to set your life, make your spiritual home on what is solid, do it on Jesus as your cornerstone.<\/p>\n
