Morning Devotional:<\/span><\/p>\n

A few days ago, I had a craving for tater tot hot dish. I LOVE tater tot hot dish and when the bug landed in my brain to have some, it was all I could think about. The problem was, I didn’t have the ingredients to make tater tot hot dish. In order to satisfy this craving I had to start a grocery list, go to the store and buy the ingredients (as I didn’t have a single tater tot in the house), thaw out the meat, prepare the ingredients, throw the dish in the oven and wait almost an hour for it to bake. I then had to wait for the hot dish to cool, because who wants to burn the roof of their mouth on tater tot hot dish, right? Finally, after all the work and all the waiting, I had tater tot hot dish on my plate. It was yummy!\u00a0 Seems like a lot of effort to satisfy a craving, right?\u00a0 When we have our minds set on something we are suddenly willing to do whatever it takes to fulfill that desire.<\/p>\n

How I wish I satisfied more of my cravings with the things of God! So often we chase down the things that we think will satisfy us, but the hunger always seems to return. When we satisfy our hunger with the things of God first, we’ll find that our cravings for other things will quickly fade.<\/p>\n

King David knew this well, as he wrote in Psalm 63, “Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.”<\/p>\n

What are you hungry for today? Whatever it is, know that you can and will be satisfied in Him.<\/p>\n
