Wilson had been involved in drugs and gangs in Chicago. Then he came to Minneapolis where, eventually, he spent three months sleeping on a park bench praying that the Lord would let him die.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: black;\">Then one morning, when he had not eaten for three days, he woke up, looked up into the clouds, and heard the Lord tell him he had work for him to do. <\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: black;\">KG Wilson spent the next eight years holding prayer vigils for the families and friends of people killed in street violence. He worked for an end to the violence and the shootings, praying and speaking the word of the Lord.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: black;\">On July 15, he quit.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: black;\">He said he was tired of the greed of groups who \u201creally didn\u2019t want a solution\u201d but were more interested in competing for funding to \u201cstick a ban aid on the problem.\u201d <\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: black;\">On July 21, he came back\u2014and was ridiculed.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: black;\">Now, the news media never reported what KG thought the real solution was. But I know that at one time, he organized an event to bring 100 ministers and lay people into North  Minneapolis to pray.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: black;\">North  Minneapolis<\/span><span style=\"color: black;\"> is where a bullet came through the wall of a home and killed a five year-old child sleeping on a couch earlier this year. At the time of this writing, Nizzel George is among 17 killed in Minneapolis in 2012\u2014and by the time you read this, it will almost certainly be more.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: black;\">When I heard the story of KG Wilson, I wanted to contact him and offer prayer and help.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: black;\">Then <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">it<\/i> came and it crippled me.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: black;\">Fear. <\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: black;\">Dark, incapacitating fear that said, \u201cYou can\u2019t.\u201d Fear that I would be laughed at, spit on, beaten, or even killed. Fear that they wouldn\u2019t want my help, and even if they did, it wouldn\u2019t do any good. <\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: black;\">Those lies (and they <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;\"><i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">are<\/i><\/b> lies) are exactly the thing that cripple us as Christians.
