There are various forms of this story scattered throughout the internet. The author is unknown:<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>\n

The dentist filled the man\u2019s cavity and said, \u201cThere you go, all done.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
The patient said, \u2018Thank God for that!\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
The dentist said, \u201cGod? There is no god.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cOh, I believe in God,\u201d said the patient.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cWhat kind of god would allow all the pain and death and suffering in the world? There is no god,\u201d replied the dentist.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cWell then,\u201d said the patient, \u201cI don\u2019t believe in dentists.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cSo, your patients take care of their teeth of their own free will?\u201d said the patient.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
The dentist saw where the patient was going with this, but he had to agree.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s the same thing with God. He doesn\u2019t force anyone to listen to Him or come to Him. People take care of their souls of their own free will. He can heal the decaying, hurting souls of the world\u2014if only they would just come to Him.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
